Advert

In the summer of 2023 we were asked by the Marketing team at the Roslin Beach Hotel in Southend, to help them create a narrative led Christmas advert.

The storyline of the advert features a mermaid who surfaces from the sea and catches a glimpse of the hotel dressed with its wonderful Christmas decorations. The inquisitive mermaid then explores the hotel and experiences a wealth of human delights for the first time.

We started scripting and storyboarding the video in the summer and then got to work on casting for our lead role, the mermaid.

Once we had taken care of this, we got to planning. This was a very challenging shoot, due to the various set ups and lighting requirements and we only had 2 days to film it in.

We had a tight crew of 6 on this project and that allowed us to be nimble and super productive.

In post-production, we invested a lot of time in colour grading and this project with fully colour graded in Da Vinci Resolve to help us achieve the commercial look and magical feel that we were looking for.
